FAST AND PREDICTIVE HEAT PIPE DESIGN AND ANALYSIS TOOLBOX: H-PAT

For the assessment of thermal performance heat pipes, a wide range modeling is available in literature, ranging from simple capillary limit analyses to comprehensive 3D models. While simplistic models may result less accurate predictions transfer and operating temperatures, be computationally expensive. In this study, universal computational framework developed for fast but sufficiently traditional an analysis tool based on framework, named Heat Pipe Analysis Toolbox, short H-PAT presented. As diagnostic tool, can predict fluid flow pipe under varying inputs up onset dryout. During initial estimation phase change rates, solutions particular thin film are avoided by specifying appropriate pattern mass rate liquid along rather than using finite element/volume methods domain. With help modular structure, simulate pipes with different wick structures as long expression average velocity corresponding pressure drop introduced. also capable analyzing variable cross-sections, favorable/unfavorable gravity conditions utilizes temperature dependent thermo-physical properties at evaporator, condenser adiabatic regions together input sensitive vapor pressure. addition, performs computation very which makes it perfect design researchers engineers field management.
